Restore SPOOL File Command Published by: Bob Cozzi on 25 Jul 2012 view comments

RSTSPLF (Restore SPOOL File)

The RSTSPLF command restores a SPOOL file from the SPOOL File Archive. The SPOOL file must have been previously saved with the SAVSPLF command. When SPOOL files are restored, a new SPOOL file is created that closely matches that of the original saved SPOOL file. The RSTSPLF command does not replace any existing SPOOL files upon restore; a new SPOOL file is created when a SPOOL file is restored.

Parameters

[NOTE: These parameters are a work-in-progress and may be changed before the G/A version of COZTOOLS becomes available. Do not rely on the parameter name or number of parameters currently provided with the RSTSPLF command.]

SAVID - The internal SAVED SPOOL FILE SAVE ID. This is a way to directly restore an entry from the SPOOL file archive.

SPLFNAME - Specify the SPOOL File Name to be restored. All entries matching the SPLFNAME are restored.

USER - Specify the original SPOOL File owner's user profile. All entries matching the USER are restored.

OUTQ - Specify the original SPOOL File OUTQ. All entries matching the OUTQ are restored.

CRTDATE - This is a two-part parameter: (1) Specify the date that the SPOOL File was originally created. All entries matching the CRTDATE are restored. (2) Specify the time that the SPOOL File was originally created. All entries matching the CRTTIME are restored.

USRDTA - Specify the original USRDTA value for the saved SPOOL File. All entries matching the USRDTA are restored.

FORM - Specify the original FORM type for the saved SPOOL File. All entries matching the FORM are restored.

Optional Restore Parameters:

RSTOUTQ - Specify the output queue (OUTQ) into which the SPOOL File is restored.

RSTSPLFNAM - Specify the name the restored SPOOL File. The original SPLFNAME is ignored and this new name is assigned to the newly restored SPOOL File.

SAVE - Specify the setting for the "save after printing" attribute.

HOLD - Specify the setting for the "hold on outq/do not print until released" attribute.
