The iQuery.osVer() UDF returns the IBM i OS version and release level as a decimal result.
The iQuery.osVRM() UDF returns the IBM i OS version and release level as a text string.
UDF | Return Type | Description |
OSVER | dec(7,2) | The IBM i operating system version and release are returned as a Packed(7,2) value. For example if IBM i Version 7 Release 4 Mod 0 is installed, this UDF returns 7.4 |
OSVRM | varchar(10) | The IBM i operating system version and release are returned as a 10-position character value. For example, if IBM i Version 7, Release 3 is installed, then this UDF returns V7R3M0 |
The OSVER and OSVRM are simple functions that quickly return the operating system version and release level in either character or numeric format. Use which ever one fits your needs.
