iQuery.Joblog() - Stored Proc Published by: Bob Cozzi on 17 Jun 2019 view comments

Write Text to the Job Log

The iQuery.joblog() Stored Procedure writes a message to the joblog. The type of message written is determined by the 2nd parameter of the JOBLOG procedure.

Syntax:

call iQuery.joblog( 'text to write to the joblog' varchar(4096), message-type varchar(10) )

Parameters

The Text to write to the Joblog parameter can be any textual data up to 4k in length. If embedded data within the message is necessary, do that using other methods, such as concatenation before passing your text to the JOBLOG stored procedure.

The message-type parameter is optional and identifies the type of message to be written. The valid choices are listed below. The default if unspecified is *INFO.

*CMD Command
*COMP Completion
*DIAG Diagnostic
*ESCAPE Escape
*INFO Informational (This is the DEFAULT)
*INQ Inquiry. You can send inquiry messages only to the external message queue.
*NOTIFY Notify
*RQS Request
*STATUS Status

Example

exec SQL call iQuery.joblog('Hello World!');
exec SQL call iQuery.joblog('Customer record not found. Cancelled.' '*ESCAPE');
