Is it possible to print > 378 characters on single line of printer file? Published by: ramvilas patidar on 03 Apr 2013 view comments(2)

I wish to have a printer file with different font size on different lines...because we can't print more than 378 characters on a single line. (and cannot define any field beyond 255th position)...

Can someone please tell me if I use smaller font size on a line, can I print more characters on this particular line...

It possible to do in practice?

Thanks in advance,

Ram.

Do you use DDS keyword CHRSIZE? You could take a look at OVRDBF/CHGPRTF CPI and PAGESIZE parameters. And in SEU you can position it beyond position 255.

But I do not think it will be readable. Have no experience with this either.

You may be able to do it, but your going to have to use a combination of the Font and Position keywords to do it. When you start getting past the 255 lines and 378 page width limits anything you create will most likely be to small to be easily readable.
