Help with SFLDROP, SFLFOLD Published by: WestCoastGuy on 28 Mar 2012 view comments(3)

The program I am working on is a subfile that needs two lines on the subfile record for display. When I press the  command key to do the sfldrop, I get the error message - "Not able to display the record in truncated format". I get this message when running the RPGLE version, but when I run legacy written programs with the fold and drop, the display works and toggles between displaying  1 line and 2 lines with no issues.  There is no wrap around on the fields from one display line to the other.

Why am I getting that message?

Thanks in advance !

If you need two lines on your subfile record for display, why are you messing with SFLFOLD/SFLDROP - code the subfile output for 2 lines/record and go with that.

User specifications is why they wanted the fold/drop

I'll let them know that they always need to see the second line of the data.

Thanks

What caused that error message was having a variable start in position 1. After I moved it over to position 2, the sfldrop and fold worked just fime.

Whew !
